Born on September 17, 1972, in Chapman, Alabama, Nicholas was the seventh of what would be his parents' eleven children. He attended Robert L. Austin Elementary School and went on to graduate from Georgiana High School in 1991. Immediately after graduating, he joined the United States Army and went on to serve his country in an active duty and reservist capacity for seventeen years, nine months and fourteen days. During that time frame, he traveled the world, completed his college degree, and became a father. After leaving the military, he continued to work in the field of Information Technology as a contractor with the U.S. Government. In November of 2025, Nicholas retired from his job in Bethesda, Maryland and returned to his home in Prattville, Alabama where he lived his final days.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Bogan, Jr. (Chapman, Alabama), Loretta Bogan Knighten (Georgiana, Alabama) and Lydia Danice Bogan (Birmingham, Alabama).
Nicholas is survived by his daughter, Latisha Aliya Türkeri (Augsburg, Bavaria). He also leaves behind his loving mother, Leana Bogan; his brothers Olanda C. Bogan, Oliva C. Bogan, Illya D. Bogan, Iffia Bogan (LaShawn Bogan), Stefano M. Bogan and his sisters Lanetta Bogan Hamilton (Michael Hamilton), Danetta Bogan and Jolanda Bogan Robinson (Audrey Robinson), his Aunt Lillie Tims, Uncle Joe Peagler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
